The Creed of Abu Hasan al-Ash'aree in the Latter Part of His Life
Abu Hasan al-Ash'aree was originally upon the madhhab of the Mu'tazilah in the early part of his life - knowing this madhhab intricately and in great detail. He then renounced that and began adopting aspects of the creed of Ahl us-Sunnah, but still retained some of his previous misguidance, speaking with the madhhab of Ibn Kullaab for a while. Finally, he ascribed to the aqeedah of Imaam Ahmad, and wrote some books in which he demonstrated his adoption of and nearness to this aqeedah.
